Obama is back to the motherland. It’s clear he is no longer Barry or thé great senator from Illinois. He returns to Kenya now as the President of the USA.
But has he been the great Messiah or savior that many africans thought? What has he accomplished for Africa or even for Kenya as a matter of fact?
Back home in the USA he ratings have dwindled and many expert assert that he has done less for Africa than his last 2 predecessors George W Bush and Bill Clinton.
Should Africa give him a pass and grant the great son of the soil a hero’s welcome?
The truth is that Obama is not african, his allegiance is not to africa but to the USA. As the commander in chief of the US military, Obama can declare war against Kenya or any other african country to protect American interests. As a matter of fact he did so already in Lybia.
Sure I am proud of him for becoming the first American president but will he ever do anything for his people?
Here are his words from a 2006 interview.
“Kenya is not my country. It’s the country of my father,” he told the Chicago Tribune. “I feel a connection, but ultimately, it’s not going to be me. It’s going to be them who are climbing a path to improving new lives.”
